Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Mychal Kendricks will sit out his team's home game against the St. Louis Rams on Sunday due to a lingering calf injury, according to the team's Friday injury report.

Kendricks will miss his third straight game after injuring his calf in the third quarter of the Eagles' Monday Night Football match-up with the Indianapolis Colts on Sept. 15.

He underwent an MRI after that game, but has yet to return to the field.

Eagles running back McCoy baffled by his struggles

Eagles head coach Chip Kelly discussed Kendricks' recovery with reporters, and his comments were mixed:

"He's moving a little better," Kelly said. "We'll see how he is. But he hasn't gotten to the point where we're putting him back in drills yet."

"He's moving," Kelly said, "he's running a little bit more. He was running on the treadmills in the weight room and he's now on the field doing some things."

In Kendricks' only two games this year, he has 10 tackles and one sack. Last season, he compiled 81 tackles, four sacks, three interceptions and recovered four fumbles.

Darren Sproles felt 'disrespected' by Eagles trade

In addition to Kendricks, center Jason Kelce is out for the Eagles. Receivers Jeremy Maclin and Brad Smith are probable. Cornerback Brandon Boykin has been listed as questionable.

The Eagles are 3-1 this year and currently lead the NFC East.
