Jets GM John Idzik: Percy Harvin trade could be 'potential coup' for us
New York Jets general manager John Idzik said the team's trade for wide receiver Percy Harvin could be "a potential coup" for the Jets, according to Rich Cimini of ESPN.
The Jets acquired Harvin from the Seattle Seahawks on Friday for a conditional draft pick. The Seahawks reportedly had Harvin on the trade market for weeks and wanted him off the team so badly they would have released him outright had they not found a suitor by the Oct. 29 trade deadline.

The Seahawks desire to part ways with Harvin reportedly stemmed from Harvin's on-field production and off-field attitude. In March 2013, Seattle signed Harvin to a six-year, $67 million extension with $25.5 million guaranteed, something that ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports team sources now say was a "bad decision."
Harvin has 22 catches this season for 133 yards and has rushed for 92 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries. The 26-year-old was the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2009 while with the Minnesota Vikings.
New York's No. 1 receiver, Eric Decker, has been limited while dealing with a hamstring injury for most of the season, but has played in six games.

After winning their season opener, the Jets have lost six straight and are one of just four NFL teams with one win or less. Seattle is 3-3 after falling to the St. Louis Rams on Sunday.
New York lost to the New England Patriots, 27-25, on Thursday night. The team will host the Buffalo Bills on Oct. 26.
