New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady was the most mentioned NFL player on Twitter during Week 8, Twitter data shows

The week spans from Thursday, Oct. 23 through Monday, Oct. 27. It is the second time this season that Brady was the most mentioned player, as he also was in Week 5

Brady and the Patriots defeated the Chicago Bears 51-23 on Sunday. Brady completed 30-of-35 passes for 354 yards and five touchdowns, including three touchdowns during a 31-point second quarter by New England.

Rounding out the top five most mentioned players were Jets quarterback Geno Smith, Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning and Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant.

Smith threw three interceptions in eight pass attempts against the Bills in Week 8 and was benched in favor of Michael Vick. Jets coach Rex Ryan announced Sunday that Vick will start over Smith on Sunday against the Chiefs.  

The Dallas Cowboys were the most mentioned team account during the week.
