DENVER (AP) The Denver Broncos will be without tight end Julius Thomas for their game against the Miami Dolphins because of a sprained left ankle.

Wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders, however, is active. He was knocked from last week's game at St. Louis by a vicious hit but cleared the league's concussion protocol over the weekend.

Other inactives for Denver are: Montee Ball (groin), Ronnie Hillman (foot), Tony Carter, Chris Clark, Marvin Austin Jr. and Michael Schofield.

For Miami, James Taylor will start in place of Cortland Finnegan (ankle), who was deactivated along with tight end Charles Clay (knee, hamstring). He'll be replaced by Dion Sims.

Other inactives for the Dolphins are: Jalil Brown, Jonathan Freeny, Nate Garner, Anthony Johnson and Billy Turner.
