Denver Broncos tight end Julius Thomas is inactive for Sunday's game against the Miami Dolphins, according to the Denver Post

Thomas injured his ankle last Sunday against the St. Louis Rams and left the game in the second quarter. He only briefly practiced on Friday, not enough to be considered to have participated, and was a game-time decision against Miami.

Jacob Tamme is expected to start at tight end with Thomas out, according to the Post.

Actives/Inactives: Gordon returns; Bush, Foster out

A fourth-year veteran, Thomas leads the NFL with 12 touchdown catches and is third on the Broncos with 40 receptions for 426 yards. Tamme has 10 catches for 88 yards with two touchdowns this season.

Denver will also be without running backs Montee Ball and Ronnie Hillman in Week 12. Both were ruled out by the team on Friday. Wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders, who sustained a concussion against the Rams, is expected to play.

The Broncos (7-4) host the Dolphins (6-4) at 4:25 p.m. ET on Sunday.
