Houston Texans rookie linebacker Jadeveon Clowney admitted that he is still recovering from the knee surgery that kept him out for the majority of the first half of the season.

Clowney, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, missed six games with a torn meniscus in his right knee after being injured in the season opener against the Washington Redskins. He returned for the team's Week 8 victory over the Tennessee Titans.

Clowney was asked by the Houston Chronicle if he is playing at the level he wants to and if he is feels if he making an impact during games.

“Somewhat,” Clowney said. “Some things are holding me back still but I’m just out here trying to do what I can do and have fun. I can only do my job, which is set the edge and get after the quarterback. Sometimes you get that and sometimes you don’t.”

He also dealt with a hernia injury, causing him to miss time during training camp.

"You never know if you’re going to have an injury or not coming into the league. So when that happened to me, it was a setback," Clowney said. “I’m just trying to do everything I need to do to get back to where I need to be to help the team out."

Clowney has seven total tackles in four games this season for the Texans (5-6), who have split their last four games.
