Dallas Cowboys running back DeMarco Murray said the decision about whether he will play Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts will be made by him.

Murray had surgery Monday to insert a plate and screws, stabilizing a broken bone in his left hand. He went through a limited number of plays at practice on Thursday while wearing padding to protect his hand.

Murray leads the NFL with 1,687 yards and 11 rushing touchdowns this season.  The Cowboys (10-4) can clinch the NFC East title with a win over Indianapolis and a loss by the Philadelphia Eagles, who play the Redskins in Washington on Saturday.

“People deal with injuries all the time, so you’ve got to be able to fight through the pain,” Murray told USA Today. “These are important games we’ve got coming up and I know how important they are, we know how important they are, so whatever we can do to get these wins is crucial to what we want to do in the playoffs and how to get there.”

Dallas is looking for its first postseason berth since 2009.
