Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Mark Sanchez will start the team’s season finale against the New York Giants on Sunday.

Eagles coach Chip Kelly made the announcement on WIP Radio in Philadelphia on Monday, simply saying, ”Mark's our quarterback."

The Eagles were eliminated from playoff contention when they lost on Saturday 27-24 to the Washington Redskins and the Dallas Cowboys beat the Indianapolis Colts 42-7 on Sunday to wrap up the NFC East title.

Sanchez is completing his first season with the Eagles after spending his first four seasons with the New York Jets.

In seven starts since taking over for an injured Nick Foles, Sanchez has thrown 10 interceptions and lost three fumbles, including an interception with 1:31 left against Washington that led to Kai Forbath's game-winning 26-yard field goal with five seconds left in the game. The Eagles have gone 3-4 in games that Sanchez has started.

Sanchez, 28, has thrown for 2,126 yards with 12 touchdown passes this season.
