Report: Seahawks offer Marshawn Lynch 'huge' contract extension
Update: A Seahawks official has told the Seattle Times that the team wants to offer Lynch an extension, but that nothing official can occur until the new league season starts in mid-March.
The Seattle Seahawks have offered star running back Marshawn Lynch a 'huge' contract extension, according to an NFL.com report.
The offer could result in Lynch making an additional $10 million on top of what he is already owed in 2015, the report said, citing multiple unnamed sources.
The team and Lynch's agent Doug Hendrickson have reportedly been discussing the extension, which could make Lynch the second-highest paid running back in the NFL, for "several weeks."

Lynch is currently in the third year of a four-season deal worth $31 million. Lynch held out during training camp for more money before the 2014 season started and was eventually offered $6.5 million instead of the $5 million he was originally owed.
The running back known commonly as Beast Mode just completed his sixth, and arguably best, 1,000-yard rushing regular season in December. He had 21 total touchdowns and 1,673 yards over 16 games.
Lynch and the Seahawks take on the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLIX at 6:30 pm EST on Sunday.
