New Orleans Saints backup quarterback Luke McCown has signed a one-year deal with the team, according to a report from Alex Marvez of Fox Sports.
The deal is worth $970,000 with an $80,000 signing bonus and $350,000 in guaranteed money, the report says.
McCown backed up Drew Brees last season and could compete with Ryan Griffin for the No. 2 spot on the quarterback depth chart in 2015.
The last time McCown started a game was 2011, when he played for the Jacksonville Jaguars.
McCown's brother, Josh, is a quarterback for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The Saints went 7-9 and finished in second place in the NFC South last season.
