Report: LeSean McCoy may be asked to take pay cut
Sunday March 1st, 2015

Philadelphia Eagles running back LeSean McCoy could be asked to take a pay cut this off-season, reports Philly.com.

McCoy, 27 in July, has a cap number of $11.9 million for 2015, second-highest in the NFL behind Adrian Peterson ($15.4 million). Running back Darren Sproles also has a $4.1 million cap figure for next season, committing the Eagles to $16 million toward two running backs. Their 2015 salary cap is expected to be about $140 million, according to Philly.com.

McCoy told Philly.com last month that he would consider restructuring his contract, but didn't want to take less money in doing so.

"I know how hard it is to keep a team together and I want to be part of this team. But I don't want to take less money," he said. "I want to figure a way to make it happen [where] we're all together."

McCoy finished third with 1,319 rushing yards last season, also adding five touchdowns and a 4.2 yards-per-carry average in his sixth NFL season.

The Eagles finished 10-6 in 2014 for the second straight season, but missed the postseason.
