2015 franchise tag tracker

There's no greater motivation than a deadline. Teams had until 4 p.m. ET Monday to use the franchise tag, and in the end, six teams opted to use the tender. The Broncos, Chiefs, Cowboys, Dolphins, Giants and Patriots locked players into one-year guaranteed deals using the franchise tag Monday, and while some were surprises (Charles Clay, Stephen Gostkowski), others were expected (Dez Bryant, Demaryius Thomas, Justin Houston).

Players hit with the exclusive tag cannot negotiate with other teams; players hit with the non-exclusive or transition tag can negotiate with other teams, but the incumbent club has the right to match any offer. Once hit with the exclusive tag, a player has until July 15 to negotiate a long-term deal with his team.
