The San Francisco 49ers signed Darnell Dockett to a two-year deal, worth $7.5 million, according to Dockett’s agent Drew Rosenhaus.

The 33-year old Dockett will receive $4 million next season.

Dockett was released last week after 11 seasons with the Arizona Cardinals, saving the team $6.8 million in cap space for 2015. Dockett was eligible to sign with any team before the start of the free agent period on March 10 because he was cut.

The St. Louis Rams, Seattle Seahawks and Cardinals were also reportedly interested in Dockett.

Dockett, a three-time Pro Bowler, has 40.5 sacks, 12 fumble recoveries, seven forced fumbles, four interceptions and 530 tackles in his career.
