Former St. Louis Rams draft pick and Dallas Cowboys practice squad player Michael Sam is among the players selected to participate in the first NFL veteran's combine in Arizona this month, the NFL announced Wednesday.

Notable running backs scheduled to take part include Felix Jones and Michael Bush. Darron Thomas and Mike Kafka are among the quarterbacks participating. Neither Vince Young nor Tim Tebow are scheduled to take part.

Japanese wide receiver Tukashi Kurihara, who was invited to Ravens minicamp in 2013, will participate in the combine.

Sam became the first openly gay player to be drafted by an NFL team last year.

The combine will be a one-day event on March 22. NFL Network will show one hour of highlights from the event that evening at 8 p.m. ET.
