Agent: DT Alan Branch re-signs with Patriots

The New England Patriots have re-signed defensive tackle Alan Branch, his agent announced on Saturday. Branch's deal is for a two years and a maximum of $6.6 million, reports ProFootballTalk.com.

Branch, 30, has played eight seasons in the NFL. In 2014, his first season with the Patriots—he signed in late October—Branch appeared in eight games and started two, recording 13 tackles and one pass deflection.

[daily_cut.nfl]Considering the Patriots parted ways with defensive tackle Vince Wilfork, Branch could be in line for a larger role next season.

Branch appeared in all 16 games for the Buffalo Bills in 2013, recording 39 tackles and one pass deflection, but was released after an arrest for DUI.

Branch also played for the Seattle Seahawks and Arizona Cardinals. In 102 career games, he has recorded 183 tackles, eight sacks and nine pass deflections.
