The Carolina Panthers are working out former Nebraska outside linebacker Randy Gregory on Monday in advance of next month’s NFL draft, ESPN’s Josina Anderson reports.

Gregory failed a drug test for marijuana at the scouting combine last month.

According to NFL.com’s Kimberley Jones, executives from two teams said during the combine there were concerns about Gregory’s off-the-field issues while he was at Nebraska before the failed test became public.

Gregory tested positive twice for marijuana while at Nebraska, in January 2014 and again in April of 2014. He said he had not smoked marijuana since December 2014, but he tested positive at the combine because his THC levels were still elevated.

Gregory played in 2011 at Arizona Western Community College after failing to academically qualify at Purdue, then sat out the 2012 season with a broken leg before transferring to Nebraska for the 2013 season. He had 10.5 sacks and 17 tackles for loss for the Cornhuskers in 2013. Limited to 11 games last season because of an ankle injury, he dropped off to seven sacks and 8.5 tackles for loss.
