Quarterback Marcus Mariota will not attend the upcoming NFL draft in Chicago, reports ESPN's Adam Schefter.

According to Schefter, Mariota told the NFL it is important to him, personally and culturally, to be in Hawaii to celebrate the next step in his life.

On Tuesday, quarterback Jameis Winston said on NFL Network that he might not attend the draft because his grandmother has type-2 diabetes and can't travel.

Earlier this month, Peter King of The MMQB reported that Winston would not attend the draft that will be held in Chicago. Winston said he hasn’t made a final choice, but is considering his grandmother’s health.

Winston and Mariota are widely considered the top two quarterback prospects in this year's draft class. Mariota won the Heisman Trophy after his 2014 season at Oregon.

The draft will be held from April 30 through May 2. The Buccaneers have the No. 1 pick and are followed by the Titans, Jaguars, Raiders and Redskins in the top-five.
