Bucs get a quarterback, now looking for offensive support

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) Now that Jameis Winston is officially headed to Tampa Bay, the Buccaneers will turn their attention to finding help the young quarterback jump-start a sputtering offense.

The 2013 Heisman Trophy winner was the first pick in the NFL draft on Thursday. The Bucs have the second choice in Round 2 - No. 34 overall - also have a selection early in the third round when the draft resumes Friday night.

Tampa Bay used its entire draft on offensive players a year ago, with mixed results. Although first-round selection Mike Evans topped 1,000 yards receiving and scored 12 touchdowns, the rest of the class struggled to earn playing time and contributed little. Meanwhile the Bucs were unable to move the ball consistently on the ground or through the air, finishing 29th in scoring and 30th in total offense.

Tackle, guard, running back and receiver are areas of need.
