Patriots face busy second day after taking Malcom Brown

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) Bill Belichick had to wait until the last pick of the first round before taking Texas defensive tackle Malcom Brown.

The Patriots coach will be busier Friday night with three picks in the next two rounds. New England has the final pick in the second round plus two in a row in the third - their own at No. 32 and a compensatory pick at No. 33. He also has the second pick in Saturday's fourth round, obtained in a trade with Tampa Bay.

In the 319-pound Brown, the defending champion Patriots have a potential successor to five-time Pro Bowler Vince Wilfork. The Patriots let Wilfork leave as a free agent for Houston.

The Patriots also need to restock at cornerback where starters Darrelle Revis and Brandon Browner left in free agency.
