Report: La'el Collins meets with Bills head coach Rex Ryan
Buffalo Bills head coach Rex Ryan met Monday with former LSU offensive tackle La’el Collins, reports ESPN.com.
Collins had met with police in Baton Rouge, La., on Monday as they investigate the murder of Collins' ex-girlfriend. Police say that Collins was fully cooperative with investigators when he met with them and is still not considered a suspect in the case.
Police have not named any suspects in the death of 29-year-old Brittney Mills, who was pregnant when she was found dead on April 24.
Collins, a projected first-round pick, was not selected in last weekend's NFL draft as questions about the investigation hung over him. Collins is now an undrafted free agent. He was a first-team All-SEC and second-team AP All-America selection in 2014.
“La’el is going to start making efforts to get his football career back on track,” Collins' attorney, Jim Boren, said. ”We’re moving on.”
The Advocate reported earlier that the Miami Dolphins are also scheduled to meet with Collins on Tuesday.
