The New England Patriots will release cornerback Alfonzo Dennard, NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports.

A seventh-round pick in 2012, Dennard appeared in 29 games over three seasons with the Patriots, tallying 81 tackles and five interceptions. He intercepted Andrew Luck twice in the Patriots' divisional playoff victory over the Colts in January, 2014.

The 25-year-old has faced legal issues since joining the Patriots, serving 35 days in jail last year following several arrests.
