LeSean McCoy: Chip Kelly 'got rid of all the good black players' on Eagles
Buffalo Bills running back LeSean McCoytold ESPN that he thinks Philadelphia Eagles head coach Chip Kelly tried his best to get "rid of all the black players" during his time with the team.
McCoy played for Kelly for two seasons before he was traded to Buffalo last month. He subsequently signed a five-year, $40 million deal with the Bills.
McCoy also told the Philadelphia Inquirer last month that Kelly, who has a 20-12 record in his tenure with the team, didn’t respect his star players.
"You see how fast he got rid of all the good players. Especially all the good black players. He got rid of them the fastest," McCoy said in the interview. "That's the truth. There's a reason. ... It's hard to explain with him. But there's a reason he got rid of all the black players -- the good ones -- like that."
McCoy said that his relationship with Kelly was never great, but he respected him as a coach.
"So it's nothing to do with Chip," he said. "I have no hatred toward him, nothing to say negative about him. When he got [to Philadelphia], I didn't know what to expect. When he let DeSean go last year, I was like: 'C'mon. DeSean Jackson?' So it is what it is."
The Eagles released Jackson in March 2014 just months after Jackson set career highs in receptions and yards and helped lead the Eagles to the playoffs. Kelly said it was "purely a football decision" to release Jackson.

This off-season, the Eagles signed running backs DeMarco Murray from the Cowboys and Ryan Mathews from the Chargers to replace McCoy. They also added cornerback Byron Maxwell from the Seahawks. In last week's draft, Philadelphia selected USC wide receiver Nelson Agholor in the first round.
