Carolina Panthers wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin strained his hamstring last week, a team spokesperson told TheCharlotte Observer.

As a precaution due to the injury, Benjamin will likely not participate in next week's organized team activities, according to TheObserver.

Wide receiver Devin Funchess, who the Panthers took in the second round of this year's NFL draft, has been taking first-team reps with Benjamin sidelined.

The 24-year-old Benjamin was Carolina's first-round draft pick in 2014 out of Florida State. He caught 73 passes for 1,008 yards and nine touchdowns while starting 15 games as a rookie last season.
