The NFL draft is long gone and free agency is winding down, but despite a lull in organized team activities, the NFL rumor mill is still buzzing with teams reporting to training camp.

Team camps open up this week, so player movement between teams will continue. Teams expected to contend once again will see if their strengths have carried over from last season, while those looking to turn around losing efforts will get a chance to see what they have.

July 29

• Former No. 1 draft pick Jake Long is visiting with the Giants on Wednesday, reports NFL Network's Rand Getlin. Long worked out with the Falcons on Tuesday. 

• The Chiefs have released running back Cyrus Gray, the team announced. Gray spent the last three seasons in Kansas City. 

• Seahawks safety Kam Chancellor wants more money and has informed the team that he is “strongy considering” holding out during training camp in order to get it, reports NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

• Free-agent offensive tackle Gosder Cherilus is visiting the Bills on Wednesday, reports NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Cherilus was released by the Colts on Sunday.

• Chiefs safety Eric Berry has been cleared to practice on Wednesday, the team announced. Berry was diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma in December and was found to be cancer free on June 22. 

Dolphins LT Branden Albert will begin training camp on the active roster rather than the PUP list, reports Adam Beasley of the Miami Herald.

July 28

• Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson will end contract talks with the team if he doesn't receive a long-term contract extension by Friday, reports ESPN.com. Wilson is entering the final season of his rookie contract.

• The Cardinals hired Dr. Jennifer Welter as a training camp/preseason inside linebackers coach. Welter is believed to be the first female position coach in NFL history.

• Quarterback Josh Freeman, who was released last week, has re-signed with the Miami Dolphins, according to the Palm Beach Post. Freeman hasn't appeared in an NFL game since the 2013 season.

Steelers All-Pro running back Le'Veon Bell was a full participant for the start of the team's training camp on Monday. Bell hyperextended his knee in the team’s season finale against the Cincinnati Bengals and missed the Steelers’ AFC wild-card loss to the Baltimore Ravens. On Tuesday, Bell had his three-game suspension to start the season reduced to two games.

• Free agent running back Chris Johnson's agent has been “in contact with” the Cowboys, NFL.com's Rand Getlin reports. Johnson played last season with the New York Jets.
