EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) The New York Giants have reached a contract agreement with veteran receiver James Jones.

Coach Tom Coughlin confirmed the agreement Friday in a deal that adds depth to a receiving corps that includes Odell Beckham Jr., Victor Cruz and Rueben Randle.

Entering his ninth NFL season, Jones had 73 catches for 666 yards and six touchdowns with the Oakland Raiders in 2014. He spent his first seven seasons with the Green Bay Packers, with his best year coming in 2012 when he had 98 catches, including 14 for touchdowns.

During his time with the Packers, Jones worked with current Giants offensive coordinator Ben McAdoo, so he should be familiar with the offensive system.

Jones has 383 career catches for 4,971 yards and 43 touchdowns.
