Titans receiver Hunter leaving legal questions to attorney

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) Titans wide receiver Justin Hunter says he's focusing only on football during training camp, referring questions about his arrest for a fight to his attorney.

Hunter spoke Friday for the first time since turning himself in July 20, and he says he's not thinking about how that arrest might affect his future in Tennessee.

''I just feel like I got to work harder because it's my third year, and I've got a lot of stuff to prove just from last year,'' Hunter said after the first practice of Tennessee's training camp.

Prosecutors say Hunter interrupted a conversation July 3 at the Sandbar Raw Bar in an oceanfront tourist area of Virginia Beach, Virginia, exchanged words and punched the man twice in the face. After the bar was cleared, a prosecutor said Hunter ''sucker punched'' the man again outside. The man was treated at a local hospital for a broken jaw.

Hunter turned himself in July 20 and was released on bail after a hearing July 21 where his attorney Toby Vick told Hunter's relatives and former high school football coach not to talk to reporters. Vick did not immediately respond to a message from The Associated Press on Friday. Hunter is due back in court Sept. 3, hours before Tennessee's preseason finale against Minnesota.

Hunter said he has not heard yet from the NFL about possible punishment.

Wide receiver Kendall Wright has talked with about avoiding any situation that might make people think differently about him.

''If you really know Justin, nobody believed that he really did any of that,'' Wright said.
