Now that NFL training camps are finally under way, attention starts turning away from free agency and toward how existing rosters will get ready for the 2015 season.

• With running back Arian Foster injured—he will reportedly have groin surgery—the Texans are looking to sign another running back. They brought in former Texas A&M player Ben Malena and veteran Joe McKnight, according to Aaron Wilson of The Baltimore Sun. Houston tried to sign former Saints running back Pierre Thomas but the two sides couldn’t agree on the terms of a deal, his agent said.
• Buffalo Bills running back LeSean McCoy has seen limited action in training camp this week due to a minor toe injury, head coach Rex Ryan told reporters Wednesday.
• The Detroit Lions and linebacker DeAndre Levy have agreed on a contract extension, reports Ian Rapoport of NFL.com. It’s a four-year deal, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
• Carolina Panthers cornerback Chris Houston told the team on Tuesday that he will retire after seven seasons in the NFL. Houston played three seasons with the Falcons, followed by four the Lions, and missed all of last season with a toe injury.
• Five Browns running backs have missed practice time this week with injuries, according to the Associated Press.
• Giants linebacker Jameel McClain had his practice cut short on Wednesday due to a stinger, head coach Tom Coughlin told reporters. A cart came out to get McClain but he walked off under his own power.
