The Pittsburgh Steelers finished the 2014 season with an 11-5 record, winning the AFC North for the first time since 2010. The Steelers lost 30-17 to division rival Baltimore Ravens in the AFC wild card round.

Pittsburgh's offense ranked second in total offense last season, led by quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, who threw for 4,952 yards and 32 touchdowns, and Antonio Brown (129 catches, 1,698 yards, 13 TDs) and Le'Veon Bell (1,361 rushing yards, 13 TD; 83 catches, 854 yards, 3 TDs).

Most of the Steelers' offseason losses happened on the defensive side of the ball with the retirements of safety Troy Polamalu, cornerback Ike Taylor, linebacker Jason Worilds and the release of linebacker Brett Keisel. Longtime defensive coordinator Dick LeBeau also left the team.

The team drafted linebacker Bud Dupree and Senquez Golson to try to offset some of the losses and added wide receiver Sammie Coates in the third round.
