Carolina Panthers head coach Ron Rivera says the condition of the practice field at Wofford College is not to blame for three players suffering season-ending ACL injuries, according to ESPN's David Newton.

Carolina Panthers wide receiver Kelvin Benjamintore his ACL on Wednesday and was carted off the field. Wide receiver Stephen Hill suffered a torn ACL in practice earlier in the month and was waived by the team.

“It looked like he got on his foot a little awkward, and so he shifted his weight and that’s where it happened,” Rivera told ESPN.

In the same joint practice that knocked Benjamin out for the year, Miami Dolphins safety Louis Delmas tore his ACL while running in coverage. It marks the second time since last December that Delmas injured his right knee.

Benjamin is expected to undergo surgery in the coming weeks.
