The Washington Redskins have signed left tackle Trent Williams to a five-year extension, reports ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Williams's agent told Schefter the five-year deal is worth $66 million with $43.25 million guaranteed. The deal will make Williams the highest-paid left tackle in the NFL, according to the report.

Williams, 27, was drafted fourth overall by Washington in 2010. He has started every game but one at left tackle in the last three seasons, making the Pro Bowl each year.

Williams reacted to his new contract on Twitter after multiple reports:

Williams, who lost 27 pounds this offseason, is one of the few constants in the Redskins' offense.

Washington has dealt with numerous injuries at tight end this off-season, and is considering starting quarterback Kirk Cousins over Robert Griffin III in Week 1.
