Jets quarterback Geno Smith says he will not press charges against former teammate IK Enemkpali after Enemkpali punched him and broke his jaw in August, reports Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News.

Smith hinted to reporters that the NFL was looking into the punch, referring to an “investigation.”

Enemkpali reportedly struck Smith over a $600 plane ticket, which he wanted Smith to repay him for purchasing. Smith would not comment Monday when reporters asked if he had paid back the debt.

The Buffalo Bills claimed Enemkpali shortly after he was released by the Jets. They cut ties with him on Friday.

Smith is expected to be sidelined another three to seven weeks as he recovers from the injury.
