Chicago Bears running back Matt Forte told SI Now on Tuesday that his on-field performance won't fall off after he turns 30.

Chicago Bears running back Matt FortetoldSI Now on Tuesday that his on-field performance won't fall off after he turns 30.

“I take care of my body very well,” Forte said. “I'm going to be that player that does the opposite of what the cliché saying says about running backs who get to 30. They always talk about the ones who fell off, but they don't really talk about the ones that went on to play beyond 30 like Marcus Allen and Marshall Faulk.”

Forte, 29, is a two-time Pro Bowl selection and has the NFL running backs record for receptions with 102.

He has amassed 7,704 yards and 41 touchdowns in seven NFL seasons.

Forte was selected by Chicago in the second round of the 2008 draft out of Tulane.
