Packers receiver Randall Cobb says he'll play against Bears
Packers receiver Randall Cobb practiced Wednesday and says he expects to play in Sunday's game against the Bears.
Cobb wore a protective harness on his right shoulder in his return to the practice field Wednesday. He had not played since spraining the shoulder in a preseason game against Philadelphia in August. Cobb was listed as a limited participant at practice and said he was still in pain, but that he plans to play through it.
“I'm going to do my best to fall a certain way and fall the right way,” Cobb told reporters after practice. “I can't help it if a guy lands on top of me. I'm going to do everything I can to protect myself. But I have to play fearless. I've always been a fearless player and that's part of it.”
Cobb added that the injury could bother him for a few weeks.
With Jordy Nelson lost for the season due to a torn ACL, Cobb will serve as Aaron Rodgers' top receiver after catching 91 passes for 1,287 yards and 12 touchdowns last season. Green Bay signed veteran free agent and longtime-Packer James Jones on Sunday to bolster their receiving corps.
Green Bay plays Chicago at 1 p.m. ET in Sunday's season opener.
