The Cleveland Browns waived wide receiver Terrelle Pryor on Thursday and claimed running back Robert Turbin, the team announced.

The Browns claimed Pryor, 26, off waivers in June after he was released by the Cincinnati Bengals following an offseason minicamp. Cleveland added Pryor as a wide receiver after he had starred at Ohio State and entered the NFL as a quarterback.

Joining the Browns also reunited Pryor with offensive coordinator John DeFilippo, his quarterbacks coach from his time with the Oakland Raiders. Over three seasons with the Raiders, Pryor appeared in 15 games and completed 56.3% of his passes for 1,953 yards, nine touchdowns and 12 interceptions.

The Browns claimed Turbin, 25, off waivers from the Seattle Seahawks. Over three seasons with the Seahawks, Turbin appeared in 48 games and rushed 231 times for 928 yards. He also caught 43 passes for 427 yards and two touchdowns.

Turbin sustained a high-ankle sprain in the Seahawks’ third preseason game against the San Diego Chargers on Aug. 29 and is expected to miss the first few weeks of the regular season.

The Browns begin the 2015 season Sunday against the Jets in New York.
