Updated betting odds for the Pittsburgh Steelers vs. New England Patriots NFL season opener on Thursday have been released.

The Patriots enter the matchup at Gillette Stadium as 7.5-point favorites, according to Bovada. The over/under is set at 52.

After Ted Wells’s report in May revealed it was “more probable than not” that the Patriots manipulated footballs during the AFC championship game against the Indianapolis Colts, Las Vegas oddsmakers responded by temporarily taking down betting odds for New England’s games this season.

Bovada had the Patriots at 15/2 odds to win Super Bowl 50 before the report was released.

Week 1 NFL picks: Patriots or Steelers in 2015's long-awaited kickoff game?

“Pending the potential ramifications of the investigation of Deflategate, all the odds for the Super Bowl, the AFC Conference, and the AFC East are down. Considering they were the third highest favorite to win the Super Bowl, the co-favorite for the AFC Conference, and an overwhelming favorite to win the AFC East, we are taking them down until we hear the official word on if Tom Brady gets suspended. If Brady does get suspended, it will have a huge impact on all of these odds.”

At the time, New England was also a 6.5-point favorite against Pittsburgh.
