Report: A.J. Green, Bengals agree to four-year extension
Monday August 31st, 2015

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver A.J. Green has agreed to sign a four-year, $60 million contract extension, reports the Cincinnati Enquirer’s Jim Owczarski.

Green’s rookie contract was set to expire in February. His total contract is now worth $70 million over five years.

Green’s deal comes in the wake of recent contract extensions for fellow receivers Julio Jones, Dez Bryant and Demaryius Thomas. Green’s deal will pay him more upfront, more total dollars sooner and at a higher annual average than all three.

Jones, who was in the 2011 draft class with Green, signed a five-year, $71.25 million contract extension with the Atlanta Falcons late last month, making him one of the league’s highest-paid receivers in the league. Both the Dallas Cowboys’ Bryant and the Denver Broncos’ Thomas signed five-year, $70 million extensions with their respective teams in July.

Green, the No. 4 pick in the 2011 NFL draft, has had 329 receptions for 4,874 yards, 35 touchdowns and four Pro Bowl appearances over four seasons with the Bengals.
