Sunday September 13th, 2015

Across the 13 Week 1 games played Sunday, there were several notable players who sustained injuries. The Jets-Browns game saw a few key starters go down, while the Panthers lost an All-Pro.

• Panthers All-Pro linebacker Luke Kuechly left Carolina’s win over Jacksonville with a concussion. He had to be helped off the field after hitting his head trying to make a tackle in the second quarter.

• The New York Jets sustained two injuries on defense in their win over the Browns. Cornerback Antonio Cromartie went down with a non-contact knee injury, while Lorenzo Mauldin was hospitalized after a head/neck injury.

• In the same game, Cleveland Browns quarterback Josh McCown left with a concussion in the first half. He was replaced by Johnny Manziel.

Colts wideout T.Y. Hilton injured his knee against the Bills and was taken for X-rays. He did not return. Head coach Chuck Pagano told reporters after the game that X-rays on Hilton’s knee were negative. Owner Jim Irsay said Hilton had a bruise and will miss a few weeks.

Redskins wide receiver DeSean Jackson came up lame after a deep ball from Kirk Cousins and left with a hamstring injury.

Rams defensive lineman Eugene Sims was helped off the field with an apparent knee injury late in the fourth quarter against the Seahawks after sacking Russell Wilson.

Dolphins tight end Dion Sims left Miami’s win against Washington with a concussion.

Jaguars OT Luke Joeckel injured his ankle against the Panthers and returned, only to exit again in the third quarter.

• Panthers OT Daryl Williams injured his knee and sat for the remainder of the game, the team announced.
