The Cincinnati Bengals have signed left tackle Andrew Whitworth to a one-year contract extension worth $9 million, according to multiplereports

Whitworth will receive a $2 million raise this year and be paid $7 million next season, Paul Dehner of the Cincinnati Enquirerreports. He was scheduled to be a free agent after this season.

Whitworth, 33, has started 134 of the 138 games he’s played for the Bengals since they drafted him in the second round in 2006.

Cincinnati drafted offensive tackles with each of its first two picks in this year’s draft, leading Whitworth to express his desire for a new contract.
