The Patriots have acquired linebacker Jon Bostic in a trade with the Bears, ESPN’s Field Yates and Jeff Dickerson report. Chicago will receive a sixth-round pick in return, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports.

The Bears selected Bostic in the second round of the 2013 draft and he started 17 games for them over the last two years.

The oft-injured Bostic has yet to play a game this season after being listed on the injury report with an ankle issue, though Yates and Dickerson report he was a healthy scratch this week.

Earlier Monday, the Bears traded defensive end Jared Allen to the Panthers for a sixth-round pick
