The San Diego Chargers have signed guard Michael Ola and released running back Donald Brown, the team announced Saturday.

Four of the Chargers’ five starting offensive lineman were either limited or held out of practice entirely Friday. Ola started 12 games for the Chicago Bears last season, playing every position except center.

Brown played in 13 games for San Diego last season. He carried the ball 85 times for 223 yards, and also caught 29 passes for 211 yards. Brown was inactive in each of the first three weeks of this season.

Brown, a former first-round pick, signed a three-year, $10.5 million contract with the Chargers in 2014. San Diego plays the Cleveland Browns on Sunday.
