Philadelphia Eagles running back DeMarco Murray touched the ball just eight times for 36 yards in a 23–20 loss to the Redskins on Sunday, and was vocal about his feelings towards his role.

When asked if he was getting the ball often enough, Murray responded, “No, I'm not. I don't think I am."

He went on to say he did think he would touch the ball more often when he signed a five-year, $40 million deal to play for coach Chip Kelly.

Murray started his day with a 30-yard run, and totaled just six more yards on his next seven carries. He’s run the ball just 29 times for 47 yards through three games.

“No I don't need to go to anyone," Murray said when asked if he would speak with Kelly. "It is what it is. We'll all watch film and get better."

In his last two seasons with the Cowboys before joining the Eagles, Murray rushed a combined 609 times for 2,966 yards.

If Murray plays the remainder of Philadelphia’s games in 2015, he’s on pace rush 145 times for 234 yards.
