The winless Detroit Lions were in desperation mode to salvage their season against the Chicago Bears during Week 6 and made sure to pull out all the stops to steal a victory at home.

With the Lions down 31–24 with just over five minutes left in the fourth quarter, the team lined up for an apparent punt from its own 38 yard line. However, instead of snapping the ball to punter Sam Martin, the center lofted the ball to safety Isa Abdul-Quddus a few yards behind the line.

The play seemed to catch the Bears’ special teams completely off guard, as Abdul-Quddus sprinted up the left sideline for a 30-yard gain.

The Lions would eventually even the score at 34–34 to send the game into overtime.
