Houston Texans quarterback Ryan Mallett missed the team’s charter flight to Miami for their Week 7 game against the Dolphins.

Mallett made the trip separate from the team on a commercial air line. Mallett said after the game he missed the flight because he was caught in traffic.

Mallett is the Texans’ only backup quarterback on the roster. Rookie Tom Savage is on injured reserve, and Zac Dysert is on the practice squad.

Mallett will be fined for missing the flight, reports McClain. Mallett was also fined during training camp when he missed practice because he said his cell phone battery died and his alarm clock did not go off.

Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger inactive Week 7 vs. Chiefs

Brian Hoyer will start for the 2–4 Texans against the Dolphins.
