Washington Redskins running back Silas Redd has been suspended four games for violating the NFL’s drug policy, the team announced Wednesday.

Redd is currently on injured reserve after undergoing surgery in August to repair a torn ACL and MCL, but he can serve his suspension while injured.

Washington signed Redd as an undrafted free agent in 2014 after two college seasons with Penn State and two more at USC. He carried 16 times for 75 yards as a rookie and had eight receptions for 107 yards.

Washington has three healthy running backs on its active roster: Matt Jones, Chris Thompson and Alfred Morris.
