Denver Broncos linebacker DeMarcus Ware will be sidelined with a back injury on Sunday against the Chicago Bears, coach Gary Kubiak announced Thursday.

Ware, 33, has been dealing with the injury since the Broncos’ Week 5 game against the Oakland Raiders, when he was carted off the field in the second quarter. He reinjured his back in Denver’s Week 9 game against the Indianapolis Colts, and did not play last week against the Kansas City Chiefs.

In seven games this season, Ware has 14 tackles and 6.5 sacks. Shaquil Barrett, who has 14 tackles and 3.5 sacks in two games this year, is slated to start in Ware’s place.

The Broncos will also be without starting quarterback Peyton Manning, who was benched in favor of Brock Osweiler as he recovers from a partially torn plantar fascia ligament in his left foot.

Kickoff between the Bears (4–5) and Broncos (7–2) is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET on Sunday at Soldier Field.
