Cam Newton will do whatever it takes to thank Panthers fans for their support of the team on the road.

Following a 13-yard touchdown pass to Devin Funchess to give the Panthers a 27–16 lead over the Saints in New Orleans during the third quarter on Sunday, Newton asked an official for the football. He wanted to hand it to a Panthers fan in the front row, who was sitting among Saints fans.

The referee wouldn’t give it to him. Instead, he tossed it to a ball boy.

Determined to get the football, Newton ran nearly 15 yards to chase down the ball, and took it out of the ball boy’s hands.

Then, he ran it back to some Carolina fans behind the end zone.

The touchdown was his third of the day.
