The Miami Dolphins claimed defensive end Damontre Moore off waivers from New York Giants on Monday, according to multiple reports. NJ.com’s Jordan Raanan was first to report the news.

The Giants announced on Friday they released Moore for violating team rules. According to NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport, Moore was waived because he and teammate Cullen Jenkins fought before Friday’s practice over not getting free Beats by Dre headphones like other players.

The Giants (5–7) play the Dolphins (5–7) for Monday Night Football. However, Moore will not play in against his old team because the waiver claim is deferred until Tuesday.

The defensive end was a third round pick of the Giants in 2013 out of Texas A&M and totaled 8 1/2 sacks and 66 total tackles in his two-plus seasons with the team. He was benched in late October by Giants’ coach Tom Coughlin for a roughing the passer penalty on Eagles quarterback Sam Bradford, which was seen as the turning point in the team’s 27–7 loss. Moore was later fined $20,000 for the hit.

Kickoff between the Giants and Dolphins is set for 8:30 p.m. ET.
