Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson left Sunday’s game against the Bears with a left ankle injury in the first half, but later returned.

Late in the second quarter, Peterson’s left ankle appeared to twist on a tackle after a short gain. He limped off the field and was evaluated on the sideline before being taken to the locker room. He was able to walk on his own.

Jerick McKinnon took over in his place, and caught a touchdown pass to put the Vikings ahead 17–7 before the half.

Before leaving, Peterson had 12 carries for 56 yards.
