The New England Patriots host the Kansas City Chiefs on Saturday at Gillette Stadium in an AFC divisional round matchup.

The Chiefs are coming off a 30–0 victory over the Houston Texans in the AFC wild-card game, earning their first playoff win since 1994. Tight end Travis Kelce finished with eight receptions for 128 yards, while quarterback Alex Smith completed 17 of 22 passes, throwing for 190 yards, a touchdown and an interception. Kansas City’s defense held the Texans to 226 total yards and forced five turnovers.

New England finished its regular season with a 12–4 record, earning a playoff bye. The Patriots fell to the Miami Dolphins 20–10 in Week 17, however, losing their second straight game. New England has dealt with injuries on offense this season, losing running backs Dion Lewis and LeGarrette Blount for the year. Wide receiver Julian Edelman has missed the last seven games.
