Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Dirk Koetter has named Southern Miss coach Todd Monken his offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach, the team announced on Sunday.

Monken spent the last three seasons leading the Southern Miss program, transforming a team that went winless the year before he arrived into a bowl qualifier. The Golden Eagles went 9–5 this season, losing in the Heart of Dallas Bowl.

Monken previously worked with Koetter from 2007–2010 when they were on the Jacksonville Jaguars coaching staff. Monken was the wide receivers coach while Koetter was the offensive coordinator.

Seahawks RB Marshawn Lynch could owe money if he retires

“I am very excited to add a coach with the type of experience and tenacity that Todd brings,” Koetter said. “I have always been impressed with his approach to the game as well as his ability to teach concepts and get the best out of his players.”
